Q: Dear Dave, am I allowed to take money from an insurance claim in advance of the work being completed?
A: No. Payment that is made before the work is carried out is client money. We do not have permission from the FSA to hold client money. Upon completion of work and a signed satisfaction note from the client, we can submit our invoice to the insurance company for payment direct. When we receive money at this point it is no longer classified as client money as it is due to Aspray and not the client.
