Our property claims franchisees have been truly generous in support of our newly adopted charity for 2019 – The Firefighters Charity – about which we made every effort to get them fired-up at our annual national conference.

Franchisees, from as far afield as Stirling and Exeter, raised £1600 in our charity raffle and also pledged to join in with the #My75Miles Challenge – the 75th anniversary fundraising initiative devised by The Firefighters Charity.

If they register by December 31 2018, our loss assessing franchisees can have as long as they wish to complete this challenge. They have the option of either tackling a sponsored 75-mile journey, by some mode of transport or other, as one big challenge, or taking part in a series of events that will together add up to 75 miles in total. The minimum requirement is that of raising £75.

Aspray head office will be taking on an actual firefighting challenge to raise money and more news of that will follow in January.

Moving presentation to property claims franchisees

Meanwhile, franchisees are devising their own plans to raise money for The Firefighters Charity having been moved to tears by a talk given by Alan Knell, Regional Fundraiser for The Firefighters Charity in the northwest, and a video highlighting the mental and physical health issues affecting firefighters, retired firefighters and their loved ones.

Alan kindly attended the Aspray national franchise conference to talk about the work of The Firefighters Charity and explain the work that takes place at three main rehabilitation centres that tackle the physical and mental health issues that many firefighters face.

Aspray franchisees are now fired-up to raise as much money as possible, working with their local Firefighter Charity representatives or fire stations.

Aspray director, Andrea Loasby, says: “Our franchisees handle fire-damage-related claims at domestic and commercial properties across the country so, as a business, we have great reasons for supporting fire crews that do such an amazing job in keeping us all safe, no matter what the scenario.

“Raising £1600 was a magnificent achievement at our annual conference and we will be adding to this figure significantly in 2019, with a variety of inspiring events and initiatives, powered by our enthusiastic and committed franchisees.”
