The 2022/2023 season started off in tricky circumstances for the Deeside Dragons, as the Deeside arena itself was behind schedule in installing its ice foundations, believe it or not! The delay was caused by the pandemic, with the arena being used as a nightingale hospital. Since then, it’s been a rush to get the ice back and unfortunately the Dragons had no training and played only away games. In December 2022, the Deeside Dragons were able to play home games again and were welcomed to the arena with new Aspray Chester branding throughout. 

Knowing how much the management and players appreciate and rely on funding, volunteering and any participation from fans alike – Iain has really stepped up to become a part of the club. 

You will find Iain at most home games, talking to players and staff, offering Aspray Chester branded merchandise out on raffles and creating more online content to give the Dragons an extra boost. 

Iain has a 30+ year career in financial services and has obtained chartered insurer status in recent years. Throughout his career, he has always had a passion for all things property related. Coming across the Aspray franchise, Iain quickly realised how it was a perfect match for his experience and skillset. 

Iain researched the Chester territory extensively, and made a thorough and comprehensive business plan to market his services in the local community.

The Pandemic of 2020 would seem like a terrible time to start a business. However, Aspray’s service was required more than ever. With more people staying at home, there was a greater chance of escape of water due to the sudden strain on appliances, plumbing and more. There were challenges for Iain in delivering his service, such as handling vulnerable customers, however he found his feet quite quickly and took advantage of the robust business model Aspray presents.

Since then, Iain has gone from strength to strength and as of 2022 embarked on the journey of becoming title sponsor of the Deeside Dragons. Iain has more than done his fair share of marketing when it comes to Aspray, which results in the people knowing exactly who to turn to when their home or business is damaged.
