Roy has seen the franchise in its infancy and has seen the many changes it’s been through over the years. While Roy can look back now and laugh at his first years’ experience, he does vouch that if he had joined the franchise today – he would have had a more positive onboarding process.

Roy praises Aspray for the training and support that new franchisees receive when joining, claiming the franchise is much ‘smarter’.

However, Roy will always go back to saying that no matter how the franchise changes, the core principles remain the same; treating policyholders as if they were a member of our own family.

Roy has grown his territory in part by participating in several networking groups, from which he has developed introducer relationships. He admits that persistence is key, sometimes introducers understand the service off the first conversation. Sometimes it takes a few conversations for the penny to drop. Roy has stumbled on the following scenario multiple times in his 10 years’ experience: Somebody in one of his networking groups will be speaking about the trials and tribulations of running a business and will at some point touch on a story of a property damage insurance claim. That’s were Roy pounces, “I can help you there!”.

Roy is always great fun to work with, always sharing a laugh everyone involved with Aspray. One conversation with Roy and you will understand why he has built up a good network of contacts in Wakefield and how running an Aspray franchise can be fun and enjoyable.
